World Access for the Blind has helped many hundreds of blind people and many thousands of blindness professionals by delivering dozens of invited workshops, public awareness events, private trainings, and technical consultation throughout the world each year. Our new and unique method teaches blind people to see in new ways by training the brain to gain detailed images of the world through sound and touch - like lighting a match in the dark. Blind and sighted students taking control of their lives by our approach continues to become more remarkable and inspiring. Blind kids become more confident and active; parents more savvy and effective; blind adults more self-sufficient; blindness professionals gratefully become more knowledgeable with higher standards. By our approach, people grow from being passive recipients to active contributors. The examples set by these people bring greater awareness to the public about the strengths of blindness, the real barriers confronting blind people, and awareness of the wherewithal within us all to challenge what we think we know, to perceive ourselves and our environment better, and to live with No Limits.

Thanks to broad press coverage, heightened public and professional interest in our approach, and generous support, we continue to help blind children and adults globally to improve their quality of life, to challenge poverty and social isolation, and to realize their dreams.

We continue to need your support in order to bring our unique message and training to blind and sighted people everywhere who suffer needlessly from ignorance and prejudice, and from deflated belief in themselves and their worthiness to achieve. Still rampant is the belief that blind people must live by borrowing the charitable eyes of others, and by awkwardly feeling their way through the dark with doubt and uncertainty. The unemployment rate still remains at over 70 percent.  Yet the notable number of blind people who hold good jobs and accomplish great things prove that no one need suffer from poverty or rejection for any reason.

Your contributions and generous support allow us to expand our programs to reach out to over 37 million blind people world wide to dispel prejudice, inform ignorance, and enable blind people to contribute and achieve according to their choosing. More blind people will walk with purpose and dignity through their lives as more blind kids learn in school and play freely with other kids, more adults find gainful employment, more blind people find companionship and camaraderie, and more people everywhere understand that blindness is not an affliction of weakness and limitation, but an opportunity for us all to learn to see in new ways toward achievement, growth, and mutual prosperity.
